  • I had a really relaxing time at Capel Bach and can't recommend it highly enough. Olwen is a perfect host and the cottage is simply ace. It's located away from any traffic, but a short walk to the village and the most excellent craft beer pub nearby.
Waunfawr is a great location with plenty of local walks, whilst most of Snowdonia's popular locations are a 'not too taxing' cars journey away.
    Just brilliant.

  • Wonderful location. with gorgeous views of the aptly named ' Elephant Mountain'. Olwen is the perfect host who made us feel very welcome by offering tips on the local area and very quick responses to any questions we had. only a short drive from Snowdon and countless other stunning routes. Highly recommended place to anyone looking to use as a base for exploring.

  • Had a fabulous stay at Capel Bach and luckily blessed with the most amazing weather too. This converted chapel is in a brilliant location with the most amazing views and perfect if you want something a little off the beaten track. The quirkiness of the property adds to its charm and it has a lovely outside space where you can enjoy a peaceful drink and admire the views of Snowdonia. it is an easy drive from there to Rhyd Ddu track up Snowdon which I would strongly recommend over the busier well known routes.

  • A gorgeous cottage in a great and quiet location with amazing views. The house is an old chapel with a lovely welcoming feel. Clearly lots of effort made to comply with Covid restrictions. The completely enclosed garden is private without spoiling the amazing views. Lots of beaches welcome dogs which is nice in the summer months. Would definitely stay again.

  • This is a quirky space and a real treat to stay. There's plenty of room inside and a great outside space to sit in the evenings with views across open countryside and hills. The accommodation is well appointed with everything you will need. There's a small convenience store in the village for the 'forgotten ' items. The location is very central to explore the western side of North Wales. There is nothing not to like. If you are looking for something a bit different, in a rural location, and in a great location to explore look no further.

  • Lovely cottage with bags of character, well appointed and full of nice touches that made us feel very welcome. The only thing to watch out or is the low beams in the upstairs bedroom. With the concerns over the COVID19 situation it was very reassuring to find that Olwen had taken lath necessary precautions to ensure our stay was safe as it could be. The location was ideal for us, ,not too busy and with beautiful views as well as being within easy reach of all the local towns as well as some superb walks.

  • We stayed at Olwen's place for four nights and loved it.The place is full of character with beautiful surroundings. Given the current circumstances Olwen made us feel safe going to her places , she provided hand sanitisers and wipes etc plus the place was immaculate. Olwen is a great host and provided clear instructions, always available if we needed anything and made us feel very welcome. It is a little bit far from some of the buzzy towns but if you have a car it is well worth staying there for the peace and tranquillity.

  • It is a beautiful cottage, easy to find and well placed for walking and sightseeing. Olwen was very communicative, before and during our sty, offering lots of information and making sure we were managing during the storms.

  • We were looking for a quiet getaway from the craziness of Christmas and to spend New Year in our favourite place Wales. So glad we came across Olwen's cosy cottage . The shower is hot and powerful.Everything we needed was at a hand. Great for just hiding away and perfect location for getting around Snowdonia for a hiking break. There is a bus at the top of the road which we took to Rhyd Ddu where we visited the Cwellyn Arms pub- open fire, great service and amazing food. Highly recommended! Close to the Zip Wire too which we had booked to do but was cancelled at the last minute due to the high winds. So I guess we will be back!
